Hi, there!

My name is Trina Quandt, and I am the owner and teacher at Dancing Crayons Workshop. First, I want you to think back. What was it for you? A passion that slowly sank into your heart, or maybe an exploding enthusiasm? When was the first time you knew you were doing something you loved?

For me, the time I spent making art as a child was a deep breath. I remember feeling calm and purposeful. I knew I could play around and try things. I could experiment and get lost creating, and no one really seemed to mind. Over time, art became a haven; It offered solitude (covert introvert over here) and a place where my confidence could test its sturdiness. Even today, I’m constantly trying to slow my busy mind (you, too?), and it does the trick, every time.

Just like art, I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. My insatiable curiosity and quest to find connections between all the whys of life, tempered by my equal desire to see the beauty that surrounds me, inspire everything I do. I get great joy from seeing humans learn and grow. I love being around kids and watching them figure it out, and I love seeing grown-ups remember what it feels like to make something without expectations. Yes, I have credentials and experience, but more importantly, I love what I do and I’m excited to share it with you.

When I’m not teaching or making art, I enjoy spending time with my main squeeze, Kevin, my two great kids, Cameron and Luella, and our fur children, Albie and Delilah. My interests are MANY, but right now, I’m building a garden and settling into our new home. I also love to read, cook, puzzle, and dance (embarrassingly, for my children’s benefit). You can find my art, here!
