What a blast our artists had in today’s Kinetics class! We read the book, Tracks in the Snow by Wong Herbert Yee and then attached bubble wrap to our feet to make some tracks of our own. Each student selected their own palette of washable tempera paint and watched as their feet made marks all over the paper. It was a wonderful exploration of cause and effect and the sticky slipper paint made for all kinds of mark-making.

We finished off the class playing in the (pretend) snow we created using a combination of baking soda and shaving cream. Similar in feel to kinetic sand, this mixture is moldable, stackable, and perfect for little hands to form snowmen and snowballs!
