We tried to anticipate your questions but if we missed one, please feel free to reach out to us!
Parents and guardians are not required to stay with their children during art class, though you are welcome to observe if you’d like. All we ask is that you let the kids make and explore on their own – this is their time to let their imaginations run wild! We always keep a pot of coffee at the ready for parents who want to take a little break of their own.
Class Cash works just like a gift card. It can be purchased in your name, or in the name of a someone else if you’d like to give it as a gift. Transferable between immediate family members, Class Cash offers flexibility for siblings to sign up for the right workshop for their age without having to commit to a full session or season. Class Cash can also be shared with friends as long as a member of the purchasing family is present.
Class Cash may be used to purchase a session or a season of classes with associated pricing (see tables below), however, for those students signing up for one class at a time, full price applies.
Per California state law, your Class Cash never expires, but we strongly encourage you to use it in the first year for the best availability of classes. Being a small studio, we try to keep our classes full and Class Cash purchases are factored into our annual planning. That said, we want everyone making art every day, so we will work with you find an available spot! If you’re interested in reserving a spot in one of our classes, contact us for availability and enrollment.
Yes! We may offer a home-based art experience with a casual next-door-neighbor kind of feel, but rest assured, we are a fully insured, licensed, and legal business recognized by the state of California. If you’d like more information on our structure or have other business-related questions, please feel free to contact us.

Kids get sick, we get it. They should stay home and get better! If you purchased monthly or semester-based classes, we happily offer sick day make-ups in which your child may elect to transfer the class to another scheduled class during the same month/semester in which your child is enrolled. If we receive no notice or notice after the class has started, you will be charged for the class. If you purchased a pack of classes (4 or 12) or a drop-in class, with notification of at least two hours prior to the start of class, you may keep your class to be used at a future date specified at the time of cancellation. Excessive sick days (more than three) are exempt from this policy and will be billed according to your enrollment package.
You may request to cancel your class/pack/semester for a full refund, up to 24 hours before the date and time of the first class. Cancellation requests made within 24 hours of the class date/time may receive a prorated refund, less the cost of your first class. If cancelling mid-semester, you may cancel a pack or semester of classes within 60 days of purchase and receive a prorated refund of 50% of the remaining classes. If canceling a monthly package, your child’s art classes will continue until the end of the existing monthly period and shall terminate at the completion of that period. You shall not be charged after a cancellation.
We live in a crazy world (not to mention an Earthquake Zone). If, by our judgement, it is deemed necessary to close the studio to maintain the health and safety of our students, their families or ours, or the health of the larger community, we reserve the right to do so, with or without notice. Reasons for closure include but are not limited to acts of God, terrorism, war, public health threats, earthquakes, severe weather, and fire threats. In the case of studio closures, no refunds will be issued. We will make every effort reschedule your child’s classes but do not guarantee a one-one replacement for missed classes.
If classes are cancelled due to teacher absence, all attempts will be made to reschedule the class. If this is not possible, at your request, you will receive voucher for a future class.
When you register and/or purchase a classes at Dancing Crayons Workshop, LLC, you agree to all of these terms.
Effective as of 03/12/2020.
Life happens, we get it. We have children who go to school and also get snotted all over on a regular basis. Odds are, they’re going to get sick eventually. Every enrolled student is allowed to attend our open studio hours for the duration of their missed class. Open studio hours are held twice a month (usually). Please consult the calendar for the date that best suits your schedule and let us know.
Payment in full, for a class, session, or season is due upon enrollment and may be made by cash, check, credit card, or Class Cash. We use Square to process credit card payments and are happy to offer a 5% discount for students who wish to remain continually enrolled and elect to use autopay (processed monthly). Contact Us for access to an online portal for processing credit card payments.
